All products are a direct result of Kala’s Nigerian heritage coupled with growing up in multi-cultural London. Each item is handmade by Kala and in small quantities.

‘Having my own business is the chance to bring my love of African print and ankara fabric to a wider audience.

‘It all began with evenings making bibs on my sewing machine in the dining room – creating unique handmade gifts for friends and family.

‘What first started as a welcome break from the pressures of the office, soon turned into a passion to introduce the vibrancy and versatility of the material to an appreciative customer base.

‘Dressing in matching African print outfits from head-to-toe for family parties and special occasions will always be a huge part of my childhood. I simply wanted to create items which would see the vibrant patterns being used – and seen – on a much more regular basis.’
