2025 reflections... In June I wore a bright @ByKal 2025 reflections...
In June I wore a bright @ByKalaX skirt to a House of Lords reception hosted by @britainsmallbiz.

Again I went without knowing if I would see any familiar faces and if I'm being honest, I did have a moment where I questioned if my outfit was too much for the event and venue.

I thought about dimming my light to make others feel more comfortable and my train of thought went a bit like this...
Are my clothes too bold, too bright? My glasses too big?
Will this outfit make me stand out? Will I fit in? Will I be approachable? Am I too BLACK?

Then I thought about my own mantra of taking up space.
If my bold style - my appreciation of my culture - makes others uncomfortable, is that my problem or theirs? I'm a professional here to excel.
Sorry, not sorry. Here's to more in 2026 ☺️

Approaching the end of 2025, it's an obvious time Approaching the end of 2025, it's an obvious time to start reflecting on highlights from the year, so I thought I'd use the twixmas period to share some throwbacks.

First up is a recent one, a proud moment celebrating @bykalax's entry into the @growlondonlocal festive gift guide.

2025 was also the year for me to embrace solo networking - basically going to events by myself to represent my brand. This has allowed me to connect with lots of new faces and people I already knew but never had the chance to chat properly to before.

Stepping out of your comfort zone is never easy but either way I would say it's always worth it.

Would you go to a networking event solo?

I've decided to opt out of any last minute markets I've decided to opt out of any last minute markets and I'm now enjoying time with friends and family - sending strength and good vibes to all my small business buddies still hustling this weekend 💪🏾👌🏾

But I'm already planning for 2026 and may have already started on some new upcycled denim pieces 🤭

Put February 2026 in the diary for the next collection drop 😊

(Also this post is just an excuse to use this fantastic picture of @ange_lyons and @dominiquetamarawrites in some of my designs 😅🥰)

THANK YOU 🙏🏾 As I prepare to wind down for Christ THANK YOU 🙏🏾

As I prepare to wind down for Christmas (think school nativities and lots of mince pies 🤭), thank you to all those who shopped with me, or even just stopped to chat while admiring my work.

Don't forget you can pick up last minute gifts from my studio at @leytongreengallery - just drop me a line.

I also have a few Christmas wreaths left which I will post in my stories.
